Goals and objectives

ASSOCIATION OF MUSIC THERAPISTS OF SERBIA HAS THE FOLLOWING GOALS

brings together music therapists who have completed their education or are in the process of music therapy education and represents their interests in society and its organizations;
sets and affects educational standards in the field of music therapy;
supports the introduction and application of music therapy in health and social care institutions, schools and preschool institutions;
works on forming the professional identity of music therapists and music therapy in our society;
proposes professional criteria for performing music therapy techniques and strives to be accepted and applied by appropriate social, health and educational institutions, as well as music therapists themselves;
develops criteria and norms important for creating an ethical code in the field of music therapy and insists on their observance;
encourages the development of scientific research and publishing in the field of music therapy;
works to promote theoretical knowledge in the field of music therapy in our society;
brings together experts from various professions who can contribute to the development of the theory and practice of music therapy;
works on media promotion of music therapy in our society;

TASKS OF THE ASSOCIATION OF MUSIC THERAPISTS OF SERBIA ARE:

suggests legal norms in the field of music therapy;
cooperates with professional associations of music therapists abroad;
organizes lectures, professional meetings, educational seminars, symposiums, congresses, etc.;
organizes and supports scientific and professional publishing activities of members of the Association in the field of work of the Association;
supports research on current issues in the field of music therapy and participates in the collection of professional literature;
participates in the inclusion of music therapy in regular master's and doctoral programs at faculties, specialization and subspecialization programs;
monitors the practice of its members and the application of the code of ethics in the profession of music therapist in the field of education, therapy, research and public speaking, and ensures that its members adhere to the principles of professional ethics, knowledge, responsibility and humane treatment of their clients and patients in case of violation of the same;
gives an opinion on the appropriate status and professional bodies in terms of health insurance policy.

O UMTS

The Association of Music Therapists of Serbia (AMTS) was founded on June 27, 2001 in Belgrade on the initiative of Dr. Ranka Radulović and her closest friends and associates.

Member of the European Music Therapy Confederation since 2004.
